Writing & Reminiscing

Meetings of this group (originally called 'Write Your Life Story') take place on the 4th Monday of the month, from 2.30-4.30pm, at Meopham Library.

Our Group Contact is Frankie Impey. Click the bluebird symbol to email her for more information.

Please let Frankie know a short time before a meeting if you are unable to attend, & please bring your Meopham U3A membership card plus writing materials with you to meetings.

Confidentiality within the group is very important & members do not have to share anything that they wish to keep private. Although writing is not compulsory it is encouraged, as this forms the basis of the group.

Throughout 2016-2017 it seemed that everyone liked working with trigger words & felt that it stimulated writing about memories that would otherwise have lain dormant. We felt that this approach would lend itself to inclusion of new & ongoing group members alike, as each session is self-contained. However, this approach will be reviewed periodically by the group members.

If you would like to join this group, you would be most welcome. You can either just turn up at one of the Monday afternoon meetings at Meopham library with your U3A membership card & a notebook, or email Frankie for more information.

Hello, I said Hello....

Yes we are still open, Its about time for a change of attitude.... Things will be a long time getting back to the old normal so let's get busy being positive and planning for our continuing Meopham U3A future.
Group contacts have been emailed by Heather and me, (Gus) asking for information about your groups and your website page and if not much has happened PLEASE be courteous and at least reply  as it all helps us to understand how our U3A is coping.
Face to face meetings of any type are going to be difficult as we all have our own "Bubbles" to feel safe in but online group quizes, coffee mornings or just a phone call can be helpful for many who miss personal contact.
Help is available and dont be scared to ask / email someone on committee who will point you in the right direction and for many try asking grandchildren for help, I do!!
As you can see from this list many of the groups are keeping the members informed of what is going on.
