We all gave our opinion of our book for the month, ‘The Rosie Project’ and everyone seems to have enjoyed it.
Discussions broke out spontaneously, recollecting some of the amusing ‘turns of phrase’ used by the main character Don. Several of us had found the style of writing rather strange at the beginning of the book until it was realized that Don has Asperger's Syndrome. The two main threads of the book, the Wife Project and the Father Project were discussed at length, recalling the funny situations that occurred as they searched for a) perfect wife for Don and b)Rosie’s real father. The extraordinary lengths to collect DNA samples were particularly funny.
We finished by marking the book out of 5 and then collected our new book 'The Storyteller' by Jodi Picoult.
