We try to keep our sessions under review & amend them as members feel appropriate. Our BEGINNERS/REVISERS Group meets at the Railway Inn, Sole Street on the 2nd & 4th Fridays of the Month. The venue charges £2.25 per visit to cover hire & refreshments. If you are interested in this group please contact Rick.

???? BOOKS WE USE:
???? BBC ‘Talk Italian’ Books/CDs by Alwena Lamping, (pub. Pearson Education Limited). Book 1 ISBN 978-1-40667-899-4; Book 2 ISBN 978-1-40667-931-1. There is a Talk Italian Box Set combining Books 1 & 2, & also'Talk Italian Complete' combining Books 1 & 2, Talk Italian Grammar & the CDs.

ONLINE COURSES:

There are various online Italian courses run for free by various bodies here & abroad, including universities. You need to register & sign up for such courses; the modules can be downloaded on to your computer for you to access them in your own time. Several of these are on the ‘FutureLearn’ website, (click futurelearn.com), but there are many other sites. (See MOOCs).

One such Futurelearn course is Introduction to Italian (3 hours per week for 6 weeks), organised by the ‘Universita per Stranieri di Siena’, ie The Foreign Students’ University of Siena. Another consists of a series of Italian for Beginners short course units from The Open University which each last 4 weeks.

DuoLingo is a useful app which can be used on both computer & smartphone. (See DuoLingo Italian Practice).

Hello, I said Hello....

Yes we are still open, Its about time for a change of attitude.... Things will be a long time getting back to the old normal so let's get busy being positive and planning for our continuing Meopham U3A future.
Group contacts have been emailed by Heather and me, (Gus) asking for information about your groups and your website page and if not much has happened PLEASE be courteous and at least reply  as it all helps us to understand how our U3A is coping.
Face to face meetings of any type are going to be difficult as we all have our own "Bubbles" to feel safe in but online group quizes, coffee mornings or just a phone call can be helpful for many who miss personal contact.
Help is available and dont be scared to ask / email someone on committee who will point you in the right direction and for many try asking grandchildren for help, I do!!
As you can see from this list many of the groups are keeping the members informed of what is going on.
